For cash-pay solo therapists
The only EHR with AI that understands CBT, IFS, and EMDR
Stop paying for two separate tools. TherapyDesk drafts progress notes in your modality's clinical language — built into your practice management, not bolted on.
Your card is validated but never charged until launch. 30-day free trial. Cancel anytime.

AI drafts a BIRP note from your session observations — you review and edit before signing.
How it works
From session to finished note in minutes
Describe the session
Type or dictate your observations in plain language after the appointment. No transcription in the room.
AI drafts in your modality
TherapyDesk generates a SOAP note using your framework's clinical vocabulary — CBT distortions, IFS parts, EMDR phases.
Review, edit, done
You're always in control. Every note is a draft until you review and edit it. Choose procedural, standard, or clinical depth.
The difference
Every EHR has AI notes. None understand your modality.
CBT
Cognitive distortions identified and linked to interventions
Client presented with fortune-telling distortion around upcoming performance review, predicting termination despite positive feedback history. Socratic questioning explored evidence for and against. Behavioral activation homework assigned: schedule two social activities and log automatic thoughts using 3-column record before next session.

IFS
Parts language and system dynamics mapped
Protector part identified as “the critic,” carrying burden of perfectionism connected to childhood exile holding belief “I'm not enough.” Client accessed Self energy briefly during direct access. Firefighter part activated when approaching exile — session paused to honor protective system. Homework: journaling dialogue with the critic from Self.

EMDR
Desensitization phases, SUD, and VOC tracked
Phase 4 desensitization targeting car accident memory. NC: “I am powerless.” PC: “I am safe now.” SUD decreased 7→3 over 4 sets of bilateral stimulation (eye movements). VOC for PC increased 2→5. Body scan revealed residual tension in shoulders — incomplete processing. Closed with container exercise. Return to target next session.

Common questions
How does the AI access my session notes?+
You dictate or type your session observations after the appointment. The AI drafts a progress note in your modality's language. You review and edit before marking it complete. The AI never listens to sessions or interacts with clients.
Is this HIPAA compliant?+
The platform is built on AWS with HIPAA-eligible infrastructure. Full HIPAA compliance with BAA will be in place at launch. During the pre-launch period, no client data enters the system.
Will I actually be charged?+
No. Your card is validated but never charged until launch. You get a 30-day free trial when we go live. Cancel anytime before or during the trial — no questions asked. If we don't launch, your card is never charged. Period.
How is this different from Blueprint's free EHR?+
Blueprint's AI does general transcription and adapts to your writing style. TherapyDesk's AI understands therapeutic frameworks — it knows CBT distortions, IFS parts language, EMDR processing phases. At 70 sessions/month, Blueprint Plus costs ~$69/mo. TherapyDesk Pro is $59/mo with deeper clinical intelligence.
Can I migrate from SimplePractice?+
Yes. We'll provide import tools to bring over your client name and basic data. You won't have to start from scratch.
Why no live session transcription?+
Live transcription AI systems have been documented fabricating clinical details — including abuse allegations — in roughly 1% of notes. We chose post-session dictation: you describe the session, and the AI drafts the note from your clinical observations. No transcription is in the room with your client. No invented details.
Will TherapyDesk add AI features for clients?+
No. We are therapist-facing only. Illinois, California, and New York have passed restrictions on AI interacting directly with therapy clients. We stay out of that entirely — our AI helps you write better notes, not replace the therapeutic relationship.
Built by a client, for therapists

Why I'm building TherapyDesk
I'm Dan Young, founder of DRYCodeWorks. I've been a therapy client at many different points in my life — primarily CBT and IFS — and it has been profoundly impactful. I'm a huge advocate of therapy.
I started TherapyDesk because the therapists I've worked with deserve better tools. Not generic healthcare software with AI bolted on, but technology built around how therapy actually works — the modalities, the clinical language, the documentation burden that takes time away from clients. My goal is to help therapists handle more clients and deliver clinical insights more effectively with technology tailored to their practice.
